Winfried Adalbert Etzel

Winfried Adalbert Etzel is Senior Specialist in Data Management at Equinor and a DAMA-registered educator. With an unconventional background in history, political science and law, he applies source criticism and institutional design principles to data challenges. He is the author of the forthcoming book "Data Governance in the Wild" and champions a data governance grounded in negotiation and accountability rather than technical means alone, particularly in distributed organizations where domain autonomy must coexist with organizational alignment.
